Publishing House of Non-Commercial Educational Institution of Further Education "Institute of Veterinary Biology" would like to introduce the new reviewable journal of fundamental and applied investigations "Actual Questions of Veterinary Biology".
The journal was founded in 2009 and is meant for the specialists working in veterinary, zootechny, biology and also at the turn of these sciences.
The grounds for creation of such journal was the fact that lately veterinary has made a huge leap forward and overstepped the limits of the purely applied direction already long ago. The scientists working in veterinary and zootechny carry out their investigations already at the level of molecular biology, molecular genetics; study of animal brain biology is going on, epizootologic aspects of population biology are being studied. Veterinary pharmacology is actively introduced into fine biochemical aspects of mechanisms of action of pharmaceutical substances both at the organ and cell-receptor level. Not only agricultural and small domestic animals, but also such representatives of the animal world, non-traditional for veterinary, like sea mammals, reptiles, decorative birds and rodents become the objects of investigations in increasing frequency.
Analyzing the materials published in professional journals, one can note that lately active introduction of veterinary has been taking place into such sciences as biology, physics, chemistry. In my opinion, this is a very good tendency which will allow veterinary to come into a new development stage, to make the next qualitative leap forward.
Our journal is to articulate and bring the latest achievements both in the area of veterinary, zootechny, biology and the ones on the verge, at the turn of these disciplines, to the general scientific and practicing public.
The journal accepts materials on all aspects and directions of veterinary and zootechny, as well as materials of biological direction, which may have scientific or practical significance for veterinary.
Original research papers, literature reviews, experimental and analytical works, methods developments are accepted for publication. The materials that have arrived at the editorial office undergo reviewing.
According to the results of the meeting of Advisory Council of Higher Certifying Commission (VAK) of Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, "Actual Questions of Veterinary Biology" journal was included into the List of Leading Periodicals of Russia in the version of 2011 (the version of 25.02.2011) in veterinary, zootechny, biology.
Reviewing and publication of papers for authors and organizations is free of charge.
